Amy Galpin, MA, LPC-S
Amy Galpin is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-S) with extensive experience working with adolescents and adults with emotional and behavioral disorders, substance abuse or dependency, and those experiencing symptoms related to trauma. She is trained in Neurofeedback Therapy. She holds a masters degree from St. Mary’s University in Community Counseling and has completed the course work for a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision.
Amy has worked in residential treatment as the Clinical Director for treatment of adolescents with behavioral and emotional disorders and the Facility Director of a center treating adolescents with chemical dependency. She has also worked with victims of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse and has trained clinicians in the use of the Trauma Informed Care model. Amy is dedicated to working with adolescents and their families to build strong relationships develop skills to communicate with one another more effectively, cope with grief and loss, and to motivate change.
In addition to counseling, she has experience leading groups, speaking at community events, leading workshops and training professionals in understanding the struggles that adolescents face, motivating for change, and building rapport.
